Labour Against the Witch-Hunt

Labour against the witch-hunt

One of the nastiest groups around the fringes of the once great Labour Party is the thoroughly disreputable Labour Against the Witch Hunt. LAW was primarily set up by cadres of the Communist Party of Great Britain (Weekly Worker) as part of it's intervention inside the Labour Party where they have formed themselves as Labour Party Marxists.

Despite this being well known the Labour Party has taken no action against these groups despite their clear breach of party rules. Meanwhile as part of a campaign to cover up accusations of racism they not only deny the existence of anti-Semitism, there supporters seem to think no-one, not even (what they consider to be) a real anti-Semite should be reported to the Party.

One of their members, the self-centred Tony Greenstein borders on the edge of fascism:

LAW vice-chair Tony Greenstein said that “Sheridan’s comments were completely understandable” and “nothing whatsoever to do with antisemitism”. He was a “working class MP” who’d seen “the Jewish community attacking Corbyn” and “most Jews conniving in what their leaders say”.

This from a man who is of Jewish origin who claims to be anti-racist and just anti-Zionist. His and others like him have very questionable views and motives that have led to their planned AGM being cancelled by the venue:

Their Agenda was very erm obsessed with just one issue..those damned Jews it would seem:

Streatham St Leonard's Labour

The Observer reports:

A group of disaffected Labour MPs is preparing to quit the party and form a breakaway movement on the political centre ground amid growing discontent with Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership on Brexit and other key issues including immigration, foreign policy and antisemitism.

The Observer has been told by multiple sources that at least six MPs have been drawing up plans to resign the whip and leave the party soon.

There have also been discussions involving senior figures about a potentially far larger group splitting off at some point after Brexit, if Corbyn fails to do everything possible to oppose Theresa May’s plans for taking the UK out of the EU.

This comes at a time when yet another Labour MP faces deselction in his constituency. The hard-left Momentum group have forced through a "one member one vote" motion in Streatham  which is seen as a step to getting rid of the moderate MP seen as "right-wing" (aren't we all) by his opponents.

No confidence motions have already defeated several sitting MP's so they may have nothing to lose in making a break for it. Should have done it sooner. It will be difficult to re-organise the thousands of activists who left Labour following Corbyn 's election and the far-left flooding the party.

Personally I'd welcome a new centre Party but.....

Persecution of Christians in Sub-Sharan Africa

Given it's a Sunday and the traditional day of worship for Christians around the world , a short reminder that in a large swathe of the world they still face persecution.

I have recently set a campaign to defend Christians.
