I was saddened to hear of the death of Shirley Temple, child actress turned politician today. Her films included Curly Top and Heidi.
In adult life (after some time on TV) Shirley developed a political career running as both Republican and Conservative candidates in elections though losing on both occasions.
She was appointed a representative to the United Nations by Richard Nixon in 1969, later on becoming Ambassador to Ghana and then Czechoslovakia.
It is for her childhood films that Shirley Temple will be forever remembered and this is one of her well known songs from the film Bright Eyes.
