"Frontline Patriots" to March in Liverpool

The Liverpool Echo reported that a little known "far-right" group were to march in Liverpool this weekend:

Merseyside Police have confirmed details for a protest march due to take place in Liverpool this weekend.

Earlier today the ECHO reported on claims that a march is being planned in the city by an obscure far-right group called the Frontline Patriots.

We also explained how a counter protest is being planned by anti-fascist groups such as Merseyside Together and Unite Against Fascism to greet the group when they arrive.

It's a "pro-Brexit" march apparently.

The Echo also reports:

The Mayor of Liverpool Joe Anderson will lead a counter-protest in the city centre tomorrow - after reports that a far right groups will try to march through the city.

The Counter-protest is organised by Unite Against Fascism (UAF) and Stand Up To Racism (SUTR).

I hadn't heard of this group so went to their Facebook Page where they published their aims. (I have extracted a couple of sentences from their statement which is difficult to read due not having paragraphs):

We have started this group to highlight issues that are happening up and down this country. Sexual abuse and grooming of children will be our main focus along with terrorism and anything else that threatens this country. We want to highlight the forgotten abuse that goes on in care homes, and all other public sectors that abuse their power and think its acceptable to commit these crimes against children and adults alike.

We want to stand out from other groups and we believe a paedophile is a paedophile no matter what colour, religion or creed. We have no place in society for such heinous crimes.

We will expel Nazis and they will never be welcomed here as there is no place in society for these people either.

This is a "right-wing" group in the sense that the Democratic Football Lads Alliance is and they support Tommy Robinson, but this phenomenon is a very white working class one. I'm not convinced shouting "Nazi's" at these groups is particularly useful.

There has to be a "watching brief" on these groups as there is always the danger they will become hijacked by more "right-wing" elements, but then those that oppose them on the streets are led by the likes of the Socialist Workers Party who hide behind the UAF and SUTR which they set up as "front" organisations to recruit the unwary into their party.

Old political labels are becoming defunct in many ways but the SWP is basically a communist outfit, pursuing an agenda which in practice is not too dissimilar to fascism. After all the left has developed it's own form of racism against Jews Zionists.

These are dangerous times with extremism on the rise. Neither the far right or the far-left are the answer.
