Free jailed Iranian trade union leader Reza Shahabi now

LabourStart Appeal by Eric Lee

Reza Shahabi.

That man in the picture on the right, with his fist clenched, is the treasurer of the Syndicate of Workers of the Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company. His name is Reza Shahabi.

Reza has spent the last four years in prison because the Iranian government won't tolerate his trade union activities. He has done nothing illegal. Amnesty International and the International Labor Organization have called for his release.

Reza's health is rapidly failing.

The International Transport Workers Federation (ITF) has launched a major new campaign on LabourStart demanding that the Iranian government free Reza now.

Please support the campaign -- click here to send a message of protest to the Iranian government.

And then, please -- share this message, spread the word, and help us build the campaign.
